My trainer was presenting awards for the Saddlebred classes Saturday night at Cow Palace Grand Nationals, when her man came walking down the red carpet to propose to her in front of a sell-out rodeo crowd waiting for the Chris LeDoux concert. I’ve known this woman for around thirteen years now, and never imagined she’d get engaged, let alone in the middle of a national rodeo performance.
I think that’s damn cool. Congrats, babe. If the wedding’s on horseback I’m very pleased to say I can already ride and won’t embarrass anyone in the wedding party. Unless of course, you expect me to drink and ride, and then we’ll have to discuss.
If I can’t get proposed to in the middle of a horse show or rodeo, my next choice is a hockey rink. And I of course have to be on skates.
