New flat day

Today is April 1, 2008. This day doesn’t normally mean a whole lot to me, except that today it’s special because I’m finally moving into my new apartment. That means no more corporate housing living and digging through cardboard boxes for clothes. Well, ok, it might still represent the latter, as when I moved out of my condo in Mountain View there were things in boxes I hadn’t unpacked four years later, but for the most part it means I’ll have more than one room in which to store my crap. As we all know, crap spread out is still crap, but in terms of illusion, appears to be less crap. This also means I have a lot more space for, you guessed it, you! So please come and visit me since I’m only out here one year and after that, you’ll lose your free European crash pad, so visit, visit, visit.

Traditionally April 1 is also the day I fool the pants off Superstar (not usually literally), and this year was no exception. I sent him a text message today explaining that I was in a Swiss prison for harassing a tram operator and it would be great if he could wire me $10,000 that I’d pay back once I got out of the foreign slammer. To his credit, he’s getting a tad smarter every year, and this one only took him about five minutes to figure out instead of, well, never. He still managed to explain the grim situation to the cabbie in whose car he was riding at the time, before figuring it out, however. Good job, Superstar.
