A themed amusement park in New Jersey is not where I imagined I would be on Saturday, but since I have no sense of where I should or could be the past two weeks, except in the echoing tunnels of my own despair, I let myself be pulled along like a person who’s fallen from [...] I’m in Newark airport now. Love and luck. Sorry I haven’t posted in more than 24 hours. I spent the New York weekend in the company of as many human beings as possible, to get myself through it. I am leaving for Newark airport tomorrow, where I will try to get internet access to post some additional things before my plane leaves for [...] There are these cupcakes at a bakery called Magnolia on Bleecker St. in Manhattan that everyone’s been going gaga over, even before Sex and the City featured them in an episode. Customers line up outside the store, pushing and shoving to get in the front door until an employee finally has to stand guard at [...] Frog is in New York this week, visiting from Pittsburgh by some random coincidence at the same time I’m out here. We took the subway down to where we thought Little Italy started, but somehow ended up in that disoriented state that occurs when you come up out of the subway and have completely different [...] Even if I’m not up for cruising the whole city while in New York, I was more than happy to ride the L train four stops to check up on Cookie and Droo’s amazing tea house and bakery on 3rd Avenue. These two went to CMU with me, scored a couple of MHCI degrees, then [...] |
